Just looked this up, sounds really interesting. How did you find it Roger?
I'm not roger but can I put my tuppence worth in?
I've just completed DD121 and DD122 which is DD100 split into 2 separate courses. I've enjoyed most of it, I think it encompasses a wide range of social issues some of which will interest more than others. Its also a really good grounding in essay writing and note taking (which I will be putting to good use in W100 hopefully!)
Lots of people seem to do these social science courses as their first steps onto other things. I've always wanted to do the law courses and with w100 not being available last year I opted for DD121/122 to start totting up those points towards my degree.
I do wish they would offer online TMA submission though. Trudging to the post office with every one, obtaining proof of postage and the hoping they don't lose it was all too stressfull!!!!! LOL

Thanks Cheryl! Seriously considering doing it now, especially if it hones the essay writing (mine really needs it)
Anna:
I 'did' DD100 because, way back in 2001, it was a recommended foundation level course for the LLB. Despite the 'PC' bias it was very interesting & also provided a refresher course in note taking, essay wriiting for people like me who had not tackled formal academic work for a long time.
The only caveat I would add is that law essays need I think to be more precise & less 'woolly' than social science ones. Generally, you are expected to show authority for any statement of law you make (e.g. statute, SI, case law, or accepted academic opinion).
With the advent of W100 I think I would be unlikely to opt for DD100 if I were starting now but I don't regret taking it at the time.
Roger
I see what you mean. I'd really like to take another course now so that I can get the first year done full-time as I'm not working, but all the other law courses are 2 & 3 stage and I don't think I'd be ready for that yet.
